Awesome Water Color Painting Art by Elayaraja
The artist S. Elayaraja (1979–2021) from Tamil Nadu, India, is celebrated for his hyper-realistic figurative paintings. While he is most famous for his oil works, he also created stunning pieces in watercolor, which share the same incredible attention to detail, especially in the nuanced play of light and shadow, often making them look like photographs.
His primary subject is the rural Tamil woman—capturing her daily life, emotions, and the traditional culture of South Indian villages with profound realism and dignity.
Paintings by Budhaditya Banerjee
Style and Subject Matter
Medium and Technique: Banerjee is a practitioner of the Tempera style, a method where color pigments are mixed with a binding medium, historically egg yolk. He often combines this technique with wash painting, which helps to remove loud colors and gives his artworks a more transparent, integrated look. He has been noted for preferring a dark background against a light-colored object.
Style: His work is based on the Indian style, drawing heavily on Indian shastra (scriptures) and philosophy.
Subjects: His paintings often focus on themes of Indian mythology and spirituality. Notable subjects include:
Gautama Buddha
Depictions of festivals and scenes from mythology, sometimes with contemporary elements.
Figurative works, such as one portraying a devotee receiving a blessing from Buddha, titled "Tempera Tales - Enlightenment".
