Ghaate ka Sauda

          Yeh kahani Manto ke us daur ke lekhan ka ek behtareen namoona hai jo Partition (Taqseem-e-Hind) se pehle aur uske dauran insaniyat ke girte hue mayaar aur dharm ke naam par hone wali siyah-kaariyon ko be-baaki se pesh karta hai.

GHATE KA SAUDA

 Do doston nein milkar dus bees ladkiyon mein se ek ladki chuni aur bayaalis  rupaye (42 rupees baat aazaadi se pehle ki hai )  dekar usey khareed liya. Raat guzaarkar ek dost nein us ladki se poocha,"Tumhaara naam kya hai ?"

Ladki nein apna naam bataaya to vo  dost bhinna gaya," Humse to kahaa kahaa gaya tha ki tum doosre mazhab ki ho ..... Ladki nein jawaab diya ,"usne jhooth bola tha".
                Ye sunkar vo dauda dauda apne dost ke paas gaya aur kehne lagaa," Us haaramzaade nein hamaare saath dhookha kiya hai.. Hamaare mazhab ki ladki humein thamaa di...Chalo vaapis kar aayein ....

Kahani Par Ek Nazar: "Ghate Ka Sauda"

Yeh kahani asal mein do doston ke darmiyan hue ek 'saude' (deal) ke zariye us waqt ke samajh mein faili hui dharmik kattarta (religious fanaticism) aur insani rishton ki sasti qeemat ko ujagar karti hai.

Kahani Ke Markazi Sawal

Jo sawal yeh kahani hamare liye chhod jaati hai, woh yeh hain:

  1. Mazhab Ki Ahmiyat vs. Insaniyat Ki Ahmiyat:

    • Kyun ek insaan ka "mazhab" uski "qeemat" aur uske saath hone wale sulook ko tai karta hai?

    • Ladki ki paak-dāmani ya uski shakhsiyat se zyada, uske mazhab ke farq hone par doston ko gussa kyun aaya?

  2. Aurat Ek 'Sauda' Kyun?

    • Ek aurat ko sirf bayaalis (42) rupaye mein kharidna aur bechna us daur mein auraton ki samaaji haisiyat (social status) par kya sawal khada karta hai?

  3. Dharma ke Naam Par Dhokha:

    • Doosre mazhab ki ladki samajh kar kharidna aur phir apne mazhab ki nikalne par usko "ghaate ka sauda" samajh kar wapas karne ki jidd, yeh dikhati hai ki dharmik bhed-bhav insaan ki soch ko kis hadd tak zehreela bana chuka tha.


Manto is kahani ke zariye yeh dikhana chahte the ki Aazaadi se pehle aur Partition ke waqt, logon ki nazron mein "Gair Mazhabi" (doosre mazhab ka) insaan hi unke na-jaiz aur gair-insani harkaton ka nishana tha. Jab woh ladki unke apne mazhab ki nikli, toh unhe laga ki yeh "sauda" unke asoolon aur imaan ke khilaaf hai, isliye yeh unke liye "ghaate ka sauda" ban gaya.
