Movie Reviews released in Sep-Oct 2025

The  most prominent recent Hindi/multi-language releases with reviews are:

 1. Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1 (2025) Genre: Action, Mythological Fantasy, Prequel (originally a Kannada film, released in multiple languages including Hindi) Synopsis: The film is a prequel to the 2022 hit Kantara and explores the origins of the Daiva tradition and the divine spirit Panjurli. It is set in the 300 CE during the reign of the Kadamba dynasty. Critical Reception: Highly Praised: The film has been widely lauded by critics and the audience, with many calling it a "spellbinding spectacle" and a "brilliant cinematic showcase."
Highlights: Director, writer, and actor Rishab Shetty's vision, the blending of divinity, folklore, and the man vs. nature conflict, and its grand scale. Box Office: The film has been a massive commercial success, breaking several records and crossing the lifetime domestic collections of major films like Baahubali: The Beginning and Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire.

2. Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari (2025) Genre: Romantic Comedy (Bollywood) Cast: Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor Synopsis: The story is a typical rom-com about the main characters, Sunny and Tulsi, trying to win back their love. Critical Reception: Mixed to Negative: Reviews suggest the film is "more froth than fizz" and follows a "ghisi-piti kahani" (clichéd story), with some noting instances of "overacting." It is described as mixing classic Bollywood style with modern humor but ultimately falling short of expectations. Box Office: The film had a reasonable run but was overshadowed by Kantara: Chapter 1's performance.

Other Noteworthy Hindi Releases:

  • Jolly LLB 3 (2025): The third installment of the popular courtroom drama. Reviews mention that Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi bring charm, but Saurabh Shukla owns the courtroom with his performance.
