लकीरें

लकीरें
अपने स्वभाव से चलती हैं

हमेशा नहीं होतीं लकीरें
समानांतर एक-दूसरे के
कि चलती रहें एक साथ
अनंत तक अनादि तक

तिर्यक भी नहीं होती हर रेखा
कि दूसरी को बस
निकल जाए स्पर्श करते हुए

यह भी  ज़रूरी  नहीं
साथ चलती दो लकीरें
कभी-न-कभी निकलेंगी
एक-दूसरे को काटते हुए

किसी आयत या वर्ग का
विकर्ण भी नहीं होतीं सब लकीरें
कि उल्टे-सीधे, आगे-पीछे चलते
एक ही बिंदु पर मिलें हर बार

ऐसा भी बहुधा नहीं होता
कि एक-दूसरे से सटकर चलें ही 
तो लगे
दो नहीं एक ही लकीर है वहां

वक्र चाल ही चलती हैं
अधिकतर लकीरें
एक-दूसरे में मिलती प्रतीत होती हैं
और झट से निकल जाती हैं
एक-दूसरे से दूर
कोई नया मोड़ लेकर

लकीरें कभी नहीं बदलतीं अपना स्वभाव

रिश्तों को लकीरें समझकर चलो तो
आधे दुःख निरर्थक हो जाते हैं
