Flower paintings by German artist Doris Joa

Doris Joa is a German artist who works with watercolors and oil paints. She began painting as a hobby in 2002 and became a professional artist in 2003. Her preferred subjects are roses and other flowers, as well as figurative work.

Her painting style is described as "Romantic Realism." She is inspired by nature and is captivated by the way light, shadows, and raindrops interact with her subjects. She aims to create paintings that make the viewer feel as though they can "reach into the paintings and smell the flowers" and feel the texture of the petals.

Joa also shares her knowledge and passion for painting by offering watercolor tutorials through videos and e-books. She uses high-quality art materials from brands like Schmincke, Winsor & Newton, Daniel Smith, Rembrandt, and Old Holland.
