• Early Life: Born in Shanghai, China in 1963, Stephen Pan's artistic journey began at the age of five with lessons from his grandfather, Bo Yin Pan, a renowned calligrapher and poet.

• Early Recognition: Despite his deep connection to traditional Chinese art, he developed a passion for the paintings of the Renaissance and French Impressionist periods. By the age of 13, he had already won a series of National Art Excellence awards in China for his oil paintings.

• Move to the U.S.: To pursue his artistic career further, he moved to the United States. In 1997, he accepted a teaching position at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco.
